CastingCouch
The Empathise
Stage
During the empathise stage of our design process for CastingCouch, we focused on understanding the needs and pain points of performers and production companies in the entertainment industry.
To gather insights, we conducted both interviews and surveys with a diverse group of performers and production companies.

Through these interactions, we gained valuable feedback on the challenges and frustrations that they face while applying for casting calls, as well as creating them. By empathizing with their needs, we were able to identify key opportunities for innovation and develop a user-centric design that addresses their pain points and delivers an exceptional user experience.
Surveys
We conducted surveys that were distributed through relevant Facebook groups where casting calls are frequently listed.
We designed the surveys to be concise and focused on gathering information about users' experiences with existing casting call platforms and the challenges they face. By leveraging Facebook groups, we were able to target a bigger group of people, with more efficient use of the group's time.

Interviews
We also conducted 40-50 minute interviews with 9 different users, to have a conversation with them and have a deeper understanding of their needs and pain points.

We even had interviews with the CEO of a Video Production Company, MotionSauce, where he gave us insights on his process of reviewing applicants from his email thread as well.
